My New Title is Partner.…

I am excited to share that I've become a partner at Bloom Family Law!

The past year has been one of the steepest learning curves of my life. Becoming a partner has meant confronting my weaknesses as an attorney and committing to strengthening my expertise. It has also meant learning an entirely new language: the language of leadership, business development, marketing. I was absorbing so many new ideas that I often didn't have the vocabulary to explain what I was learning, even to myself.

Along with that came burnout and exhaustion. For me, that looks like procrastinating on the things I genuinely care about. It looks like blog posts sitting half-finished and important projects taking much longer than they should have, not because they didn’t matter, but because my brain simply didn't have the space to create.

The lesson I really want to share is that community has a wonderful way of clearing the path forward. When someone brainstorms ideas with me, I feel inspired. When someone offers to take something off my plate without me asking, my anxiety subsides. When someone calls to check in “just because,” I feel motivated again to work hard. There are so many little and big ways I have been connecting with community, and each time, I walk away rejuvenated.

Community does not happen accidentally. We have to build it with intention. Plan coffee dates and lunches with no agenda. Invite each other to trainings and workshops. Ask for advice and feedback. Listen. Initiate conversations. Say hello. Say thank you. Give compliments. Forgive. Give grace.

My new law partner, Katie, is a true trailblazer when it comes to building community. She has an incredible gift for bringing people together, creating opportunities for collaboration, and making everyone around her feel welcome. Learning from her has reinforced something I deeply believe: relationships aren't separate from the work—we are the work. The stronger and more connected our professional community becomes, the better we are able to serve the families who trust us during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

As honored as I am to become a partner at Bloom Family Law, what excites me most isn't the title. It's the opportunity to continue building the kind of community that has given so much to me.

So here's my invitation. If we've been meaning to connect, let's do it. If you have an idea, want to collaborate on a blog post, or simply want to grab coffee, I'd love to hear from you.
